No No No Tiger Tat...I live in Maryland and I have a permit to use a CrossBow because I crushed a vertibrae in my back and I also have another disk that is popping out where it is not supposed to be...Sooo I got a Dr. note saying that I am unable to use a standard recurve or compund bow and sent it to the Dept. of Natural Resources and they issued me a Crossbow permit..
Actually it is 175lb draw and shoots a 22 inch bolt and 345feet per second..As soon as I get the order put in for the adapter that goes on it I am popping a nice scope on that baby so I can get out to about 50 yards.
The part about Michigan in the above post is just where I bought the Crossbow. Yoddle and I went to Mich. for the KR video shoot and on the way back we went to the Cabela's up there and found the Crossbow in thier Bargain Cave for almost 1/2 price..... My old Crossbow was 150lbs and standar recurve style and I had a hard time keeping it shooting consistant. The new one is a compound and you can drive tacks with it at 20-30 yards.

Deer in NYS bigger than Mich. deer???? I dun't know bout that.... Mich. has Elk now.
I didn't know it either until we went and I picked up a Mich. State hunting and trapping guide at the welcome center and seen it in there.
But Just so you know about the Deer here in MD....
That is my trophy from about 5 or 6 years ago, and one of the guys in one of the hunting clubs I belong to just got an 8 pointer 19 in spread that dressed out at 210 lbs.
But you folk up in NYS have mulies don't you????

Oh, cool, but sorry to hear about your back. Sorry I was mistaken, Sunday up here starts shotgun season so I made an assumption. Is that the same Cabela's as the catalog? Good luck baggin one.
Nice trophie. I forget the size, but my father got one similar size about 10-12 years ago. (Maybe longer). I haven't been hunting in many, many year. I can't sit in the cold like that.
As for the deer size. Last time I looked into it the whitetails in NY were bigger (at least in weight and height) than in Pen. and a lot of other states.

yeap same Cabelas as the catalog. If you are into hunting and camping and such you really need to get to one of their store Tiger... The one in Michigan is 225,000 square feet under one roof.....Yoddle and I were ther for a little over an hour and only seen about 1/10th of the downstairs.....we never did make it upstairs. it was totally amazing.
I'll sell you my old crossbow cheap....hahahaha it's a Barnett Wildcat III Cabela's wants $149 plus s/h I'll sell you mine for $95 you pay shipping.....
I know a few people that have come from MD up to NY to hunt deer but I don't remember what kind they were hunting....
Her's anothe pic of my trophy
Oh the specifics are 15 pointer, 19-3/4 inch spread. and I have never had it scored but I have been told that it would make the Boon and Crockett book if I did.
Yeah Shotgun down her in MD starts next Saturday..It's always the Sat. after Thanksgiving down here and last for twoo weeks and then we get two more weeks of Muzzle Loader...then bow comes back in for a couple more weeks. Bow starts in Sept. down here and runs till late Jan. early Feb.

~Mumbles under breath~ won't let us guys talk about anything we want to... If it's not sex or Kid Rock or sex with Kid Rock then they don't want to hear it. ~mumble mumble~

MadMan, thanks but no thanks. Don't have that jack right now. But thanks for the offer. I'm looking into getting a 12ga. right now (or a new barrel for my 20ga) for a winter trap league. Either way, I'm going to need the jack for shells and practice and stuff.

1. i agree it's necessary...i dont agree that you need to strap the dead deer to the back of your car as a trophy on the New York State Thruway where unsuspecting children and myself are subjscted to a dead bambi while driving....
2. i've had venison and i didnt like it...yucky...
3. woo hoo...now we need a pic
